Dr. Laurie Brennan
Dr. Laurie Brennan has called Victoria home since 2001, but her journey into optometry began much earlier. After studying immunology and molecular genetics at the University of Toronto, she pursued her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo, graduating with honours in 2001.
For over 20 years, Dr. Brennan has cared for patients across Greater Victoria, with a particular focus on supporting adults and seniors. She has also worked alongside surgeons to provide trusted post-operative care for cataract patients, guiding them through vision recovery with compassion and expertise.
Her clinical interests continue to grow, especially in the area of binocular vision and how the brain and eyes work together. Joining Opto-mization has given her the opportunity to expand this side of her practice—helping patients who struggle with balance, reading, dizziness, or simply feeling that their vision “isn’t quite right,” even if they see clearly on an eye chart.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Brennan brings the same harmony and balance she values in vision to her personal life. She sings in local choirs, tends her garden, and cycles around the island she proudly calls home.
